Integrate search artifact Everything into the Windows 10 taskbar
There is a search tool called "Everything" that can quickly index files on the computer and achieve second-level search results. However, since "Everything" is a stand-alone software, you must open the software before searching every time you use it, which may be a bit cumbersome for users who are pursuing efficiency.
In view of this, some developers have launched the tool "Everything Toolbar", which integrates "Everything" into the taskbar to replace the search box function of Windows 10.
How to use "Everything Toolbar"
Currently,"Everything Toolbar" is a free open source software that developers have hosted in the github project, and interested developers can download and research.
Before installing, make sure that your Windows 10 has a. NET Framework 4.7 running environment installed. At the same time,"Everything" needs to be run in the background.
After downloading "Everything Toolbar", extract the file and run the "install.cmd" file as an administrator to install it. Note that it is recommended to turn off some security software to avoid being blocked during the installation process.
The steps to integrate Everything into the Windows 10 taskbar are as follows:
Right-click to unlock the taskbar.
Right click on the taskbar again, select Toolbar, and add "Everything Toolbar" to the taskbar.
You can resize the "Everything Toolbar" box and drag it to the left side of the taskbar.
Right-click on "Everything Toolbar" to set theme styles, common expressions, matching case, matching all, sorting methods, etc.
Searching files is extremely fast, and the search results are divided into three categories: all files, files, and folders. Since the "Everything" program is called, you need to keep "Everything" running in the background.
File search results can be operated by right-clicking, and supports functions such as opening the file path, selecting the opening method, opening using the "Everything" method, copying file names, copying files, and viewing properties.
If you no longer need the "Everything Toolbar" search bar, you can run the "uninstall.cmd" file in the folder to uninstall and cancel "Everything Toolbar" in the taskbar toolbar.
For "Everything" users, paired with "Everything Toolbar" can achieve deep and seamless integration into the Windows 10 taskbar, further improving search efficiency.
